This is the Westfield models Panavia Tornado converted to electric
power, using a Purple Power motor, ESC and battery from 4-Max.
It's a real joy to fly. With a 1:1 power to weight ratio, it really
flys jet like. Great fun.

The aircraft represents a B17G of 96BG, 338 BS which flew out
of Snetterton Heath, a local airfield for me. Power comes from
4 x outrunners with 2 x 3700 lipo's. It has plenty of power &
can stooge around on half throttle until I get bored! It flies
beautifully as if on rails.
Built by Steve Cooksley.

132" Lancaster
Built by Marius Jordaan and Allard Walker of Cape Town, South
Africa in 2003, and was the first really large electric model
to fly in South Africa. It was powered by four geared Astro 05
brushed motors and forty Nicad cells.
|
With the numerous flying sites we have in Cape Town for all
year round sloping, I could not resist to also build a slope version.

Unlike finding a suitable motor for the size plane, I enlarged
the plans to suit a motor I already had. The end product therefore
had a wingspan of 1000mm.

Regarding the Zero, I did stick to the designed size and as with
all your other designs, it flies like a dream.

The 72" Lancaster is the later design. It has working landing
lights and bomb doors with Robart air/air gear AUW 9lbs and flys
fine!

As this is the first plane I’ve ever built she’s
taking quite a lot of abuse but its great how you can almost annihilate
this model and then just get out the superglue and off you go
again!! Built by Piers Lincoln.

Building the Zero gave me new confidence in my own ability. With
that in mind I moved on to the Corsair which is a personal favourite.
I’m really impressed with the end result. Built by Piers

72" Lancaster built from the original plans. Power configuration

The model has working inner gear doors and a 15" three blade
Vario Prop powered by 6s LiPo's, which produces tremendous thrust.

Here's one from Snohomish Washington USA.
Really enjoyed the build. Has an OS 75 AX and as with Ian's it
also has working inner gear doors.

I saw the magazine in a news stand here in the Seattle area and
immediately fell in love with the model and had to build one.
I now have the copy with the Hurricane and am planning on building
it as well

Hi Tony here is a completed Hawker Hurricane. this is my first

Firstly what a great starter plane the Sky 40 is, this is my
first plane and I have built this up since the start of the new
year and it had its maiden flight this Sunday, unfortunately the
weather stopped me getting out with it sooner but it flew great,
with a very experienced IMAC Pilot Chris Bull taking her up and
down safety and was very impressed.
Built by Craig Wightman

I bought this model through SLEC, and have enjoyed building it
so much.

Have just seen there may be a SKY 120 coming out with would be
a very nice step up on both the build and getting into Large Model
Flying front. So I will be watching closely for when this is realised,
and would love to get my hands on a prototype at some point, maybe
at one of the shows.

I recently received a load of old RCME’s and in one of
them was this leccy F-15. It’s Tony’s F-15 designed
back in 2000/2001 so a real blast from the past. As you can see
it’s a beauty!! At the moment it’s got 100+ watt motor
on it so should really perform.

They all fly very well though the lightning is a bit tricky
to hand launch and has 10 flights on it so far.

I put flaps on mine and it turned it from a good flying plane
to a great flying plane if you don't mine a bit of ad hoc

I have flown my TN Sunderland after the electric conversion
. . . wow! A thank you to George from 4-max
for coercing me into installing flaps, man what a difference they
make to the flying speed.

Just a few pics of my SKY 120 which has now done 6 flights in
the hands of a more proficient pilot than myself, it flies really
beautifully and is the envy of several clubmates at Watton Radio
Model Club.
Built by Jim Wills.

Also have moved the fuel tank aft - closer to c of g by cutting
tank mounting plate in half & moving front half to rear behind
former 4, this leaves space behind the firewall to fit the Toni
Clark S/S cylindrical silencer (later - but the current one works
great producing just 76db on the BMFA Noise Test carried out at
my club).
Built by Jim Wills.
|
I have modified the standard u/c by fitting a coil sprung cross
brace by drilling a 3.5mm hole in the upper part of each leg and
attaching 3mm rods / springs down to a ball joint at each axle.
Built by Jim Wills.

Hi Tony, My second one! The first one crashed due to a a poorly
soldered joint, my fault I fear. Still this one is great, it flies
really well and was a delight to build.

The twin booms give it a quite unique profile in the sky so
it can just be flown for the sheer pleasure of it's appearance
or the SC25 9x6 prop combination can be opened up for quite a
lively performance. As with the hawk there's a very pleasing whine
coming from somewhere - the prop I think. I've been flying this
one since 2006.
Built by Ian Jones.

The Westfield Vampire really captures the atmosphere of this
iconic aircraft. The markings are based on VT871 and FB5 of 6
squadron. Silver is a very hard colour to see against a grey sky
especially with the thin wing profile so red spinner, wing leading
edges and tailplane have been added.
Built by Ian Jones.
|
After 2008 refit: Covered with pro-film, new canopy and a few
home made decals. Internally the SD200 servos have been replaced
with Hitec HS88s
Built by Ian Jones.

This photo of my hawk means this is it's 4th year in service
and still going well. The SC25 & APC 9x6 prop on the front
makes for a fast aeroplane that is mild mannered at low speed.
Built by Ian Jones.
